It ain't flames this time! Here we have a black base w/ HOK 'black diamond' metajuls, and Ice White Pearl over. After that, some marblized inserts, kandied over with oriental blue and cobalt. Then some shredded metal was freehand drawn out on frisket, then airbrushed shading, and finally drop-shadows were added to make this really look 3 dimensional. Pics were taken pre-buff, but it was a sunny day and I couldn't resist...

Factory HD 'Deep Cobalt Pearl' base (great color!) w/ silver beveled tribals, streaked and drop-shadowed with the airbrush. Also did a console in contrasting silver, shaded, streaked, and airbrushed pinstripe design. Tribal design inspiration was the customer's wheel. More parts coming...

Black base with HOK Lake Violette pearl ghost flames intensified with a few drops of kandy cobalt concentrate. Next took out the 'ol Fraser Bonz II and added some skulls, well lots of skulls and kept it interesting by making the skulls asymmetric and keeping the flames in symmetry... Finished it off with a larger HD Willie G Skull on back fender and floated some HD skulls logos on the tanks. Very happy with the blue pearl, but need to hear what the Big man thinks...

Here we have a black base w/ HOK Ice White Pearl mixed into the SG100. Over that a set of ghost flames in Titanium Pearl with the tips faded up in HOK Kandy Oriental Blue. The Ice White has a little hint of an aqua color as well, hence the kandy oriental blue tips to tie it all in. Addt'l Ice White was added to the final topcoats of UC35. Very Kool looking under the sun and perfect for California!

Job was to paint the tank only to match the rest of the bike painted in factory HD color Jade Sunglow. Turns out it is a candy application, and using DBC from PPG, you have to guess how many coats it takes to match....which I think I did a good job at - you can see the mounting tab is the original HD color. This is just a very 'clean' style graphic job that should look real nice...

So here's my first shot at flaming a car hood, and what better to try it out on than my newly aquired Corvair Corsa Convert. Repainted the front deck lid (it's really the trunk since the engine is in the back...) and added some subtle ghost flames in a contrasting white pearl/platinum mix. So since I had a perfect base to work with, I was able to bang this one out pretty darn quick! Vivid black is a great color to work off of and the red screened harley logo made me think of silver with red tips right away! So, saving some steps (strip, prime, wetsand, base, clear) I was able to jump right on the fun stuff and start laying out the flames right away! If only they were all so easy...

Big - what can I say...thanks again for that one too! We got a special purple pearl base with lime green metallic flames, outlined in true blue pearl featuring skull and cross bones airbrushed on back of rear fender. Design was taken from Scott's tattoo and the '77' was added to signify the year of his scoot. This one's loud 'n' proud! This new paint job ought to spruce up Manny's 81 Wide Glide - Kandy Tangerine base w/ darker kandy tang ghost flames. Flaming skull on front fender and Manny is sporting a KF logo on his rear fender - thanks for the support bro! They'll love that when you move to Florida! Extensive work was done on the tank, including the removal of the 'ol style raised filler holes w/ weld-in aircraft style gas caps. Front fender rivets were shaved and smoothed and rear fender license plate brackets were filled and smoothed for a smoooooth ride. I also sprayed a glass dash in a two-tone to match the base/flames. This one'll be 'golden' for sure - wouldn't ya say, Big? ;)

Another show-stopping, one-of-a-kind killer paint job in House of Kolor Kandy Tangerine base w/ darker kandy tang ghost flames, airbrushed skulls, HD skull logo, and painted headlight bezel to match. After experimenting with HOK metajuls the first time, this time around I learned that 'less is more'. My first paint job, done only a month ago had an allover Coarse Flake base. This time around...I just dusted some Platinum Metajuls inside the flames only - more subtle, but also more punch. This is Kandy Tangerine at its finest! More pics to follow...just a little teaser for the Big Man - hope that pebble comes back my way soon...

More or less...Understated paint job w/ a subtle amount of Ice White Pearl over a jet Black base, then a gradient ghost flame on the tank consisting of white pearl, silver, charcoal, to black pearl tips - virtually fade right into the base, and an HD B/S Outline Logo on the back of the rear fender.

Just tryin out some HOK marblizer. Shot black base w/ ice white pearl in the SG-100,next laid out the panels for the silver marblizer, then mixed up some kustom grape kandy, 5 coats and some clear. Then scuffed, laid out some beveled edges, shot in orion silver and charcoal metallic, then a few more coats of clear. Not too shabby for a guy that just got 6 stitches on his trigger hand....

Mystery is over - HOK metajuls coarse gold flake base...
Here we have her all done - 6 coats of kandy tangerine w/ 5 drops off kandy apple red and a pinch of ice gold pearl then cleared over. I'm calling this one 'safety orange' kandy, so hopefully I don't get hit by a car again...
This one is also sporting my new KF logo proudly on the rear fender. Big, I guess I'll have to try your suggestion on the NEXT one...

Orion Silver base w/ Ice white pearl mixed in with the SG100, then flames laid out (freehand of course) and airbrushed with HOK Black Pearl. I then faded up the tips with some True Blue. Front fender was personalized for my client with his last name in Old English font. Rear fender has HD skull logo staring at those behind with glowing blue eyes. Mods include, shaved rivets on the front fender, emblem holes filled and the rear fender passenger seat hole was filled to run a solo saddle. This one is smooth and classy!

...Thanks for that snappy name, Big Nick! Here she is - my display piece for the show. Won't give exact details on this one...think I'll soon to be sporting a similar scheme on my Heritage. We've got kandy tangerine base w/ kandy tangerine ghost flames, with lots of little skulls inside, drop-shadowed, then a second set of overlaying flames with Kustom Flames and Harley Skull airbrushed on. So here we have a test set for a job I am getting ready to do in the near future. This is a more stylized approach, but you get the overall effect. I used the existing stock HD black cherry base (which is why you see some mount marks on the tank), then I added some black inserts and some torn metal pieces around. I used a negative stencil for the HD b/s and also addes some 'hot spots' with the airbrush. The colors work real well together, and now I think I know what to do with the next one...

Congrats are in order for Johnny D of Sunny Florida - 3 weekends, 3 wins. He took 2nd place for best paint at a local HD dealer party (sponsored by another custom painter!). He then took 1st at a MDA Run to Summer Kids Camp - 150 bikes, the kids voted and Johnny came out a winner. The very next weekend, he takes Best of Show at the Defenders Poker Run for Fallen Heroes. He's not just out there ridin - he's ridin for a cause! Way to go Johnny. Thanks also for sending ME the trophy - class act that guy!

Well, here's my first go at flamin' a Triumph Bonneville. Got some real different bodylines to play with and I think the end result works out...as always, HOK - This is my 'Kustom Kandy Rootbeer Base', nothing like HOK rootbeer kandy. These pics were taken pre-buff...but thanks to flo-coating there is hardly any peel. These tins will be shipped off to Newfoundland.
